Alkylamides
A class of fatty-acid amides (largely isobutylamides) that produce echinacea’s characteristic tongue-tingling and are among its most bioavailable constituents; studied for immune-modulating effects, partly via cannabinoid (CB2) receptors.
Classification
Alkylamides are other constituents. Compounds outside the major chemical classes — nucleosides, simple amines, mixed volatile oils, and as-yet uncategorised constituents.
