Ascaridole
A bicyclic monoterpene with an unusual peroxide bridge that makes up much of the essential oil of epazote (Dysphania ambrosioides). Long used as an anthelmintic (“wormseed”), it is toxic in higher doses and unstable to heat.

Ascaridole is one of the monoterpenes, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
