Cynarin
A caffeoylquinic acid (1,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid) and the signature bitter compound of globe artichoke leaf; documented for choleretic (bile-stimulating), cholesterol-lowering and liver-protective effects.

Cynarin is one of the phenolic acids, part of the phenolics class. Antioxidant compounds built around one or more phenol rings — the flavonoids, tannins, phenolic acids, coumarins, and pigments behind much of a plant's protective chemistry.
