What Is Epitalon (Epithalon)?

Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly), a lab-made analogue of the pineal-gland extract epithalamin, developed by Vladimir Khavinson’s group in St. Petersburg. It is marketed and researched in the context of anti-aging, telomere maintenance, and sleep/circadian regulation. It is a research peptide, not an approved dietary supplement or drug, and the evidence base is thin and heavily weighted toward one research group.

Evidence

That is an in vitro result. The widely repeated claims that epitalon extends human lifespan, lengthens telomeres in living people, or resets aging are not backed by a controlled human trial I could verify in this quick pass — much of the supporting literature is older, from a single research group, and often in Russian-language journals, and independent replication has been limited. Treat the “telomerase/longevity” marketing around this peptide as largely unverified rather than established.
