Flavanones
Flavanones are a class of flavonoids, including the characteristic citrus compounds hesperidin and naringenin.
Where Does It Come From? (2)
Flavanones are naturally occurring flavonoid subclass (flavanones), found in Citrus fruits and Many other plants. They are well tolerated orally (low toxicity).
Research & Evidence
Flavanones are a subclass of flavonoids defined by a saturated three-carbon ring linking the two aromatic rings. They are best known as the characteristic flavonoids of citrus fruits, where compounds such as hesperidin, naringenin and eriodictyol occur. As dietary flavonoids they are studied for antioxidant and vascular-related activities, generally as part of whole foods rather than as isolated agents.
Toxicity & Safety
As a class of common dietary flavonoids found in citrus and other foods, flavanones are generally regarded as low risk at typical dietary intakes.
