N-Acetylanthranilic acid
An aromatic carboxylic acid, the N-acetyl derivative of anthranilic acid.
Where Does It Come From?
N-Acetylanthranilic acid is a naturally occurring aromatic carboxylic acid. It is well tolerated orally (low toxicity).
Research & Evidence
N-Acetylanthranilic acid is a simple aromatic carboxylic acid, the N-acetyl derivative of anthranilic acid (a building block related to the amino acid tryptophan). It occurs as a metabolite and intermediate and is used mainly as a chemical reference compound. Little is established about distinctive biological effects of the compound itself.
Toxicity & Safety
Reported acute toxicity in animals is low. The compound is not associated with notable hazards at the levels in which it is normally encountered.
