Kisspeptin-10

Kisspeptin-10 is a research neuropeptide that stimulates GnRH release and drives LH secretion; studied in human reproductive endocrinology, not an approved supplement.

What Is Kisspeptin-10?

Kisspeptin-10 is a 10-amino-acid neuropeptide — the minimal fully active fragment of kisspeptin — that acts on the KISS1R (GPR54) receptor to trigger release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. Kisspeptin sits upstream of the reproductive (hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal) axis: by stimulating GnRH, it drives the pituitary to release luteinising hormone (LH) and, in turn, sex-hormone production. It is a genuine subject of reproductive-endocrinology research and has been given to humans in controlled studies, but it is a research peptide, not an approved dietary supplement or medicine, and the human work to date is mostly short-term and intravenous.

Evidence

The reproductive-endocrine activity of kisspeptin-10 in humans is real and has been measured in a clinical study: in healthy men, intravenous bolus kisspeptin-10 produced a rapid, dose-dependent rise in serum LH, and continuous infusion increased LH pulse frequency, LH pulse size and serum testosterone 1Reference 1George et al. · 2011Clinical trialKisspeptin-10 is a potent stimulator of LH and increases pulse frequency in men — clinical trialView study →. This establishes kisspeptin-10 as a potent short-term stimulator of the LH/testosterone axis in men under controlled infusion. What is far less established is any benefit from the injectable or subcutaneous “hormone optimisation” protocols marketed in the peptide space — I did not find a citable trial supporting those consumer-style regimens in this quick pass, and the desensitisation seen at high doses is a real caveat to naive “more is better” dosing.

Dosage & Safety

There is no established consumer dose; the human figures that exist come from intravenous research infusions (in the microgram-per-kilogram range) run under clinical monitoring, not from supplement use, so none is given here as a recommendation. Kisspeptin-10 is not an approved supplement or medicine — it is a research peptide, and this entry is informational only. Longer-term safety, drug interactions, and use in pregnancy are not established / not assessed in this pass; agents acting on the reproductive axis are inherently relevant in pregnancy and fertility contexts and should not be assumed benign. Toxicity has not been characterised here.
