N-Isobutyl-2E,4Z-decadienamide

A geometric isomer of the Echinacea alkylamide decadienamide.

Where Does It Come From? (1)

N-Isobutyl-2E,4Z-decadienamide is a naturally occurring fatty acid amide (n-alkylamide), found in Echinacea. It is well tolerated orally (low toxicity).

Echinacea

Research & Evidence

This is the 2E,4Z geometric isomer of an N-isobutyl decadienamide, one of the alkylamides characteristic of Echinacea. These constituents are responsible in part for the tingling mouthfeel of Echinacea preparations and are studied collectively for immune-modulating and cannabimimetic activity. Little is established about this individual isomer beyond its occurrence in the plant.
