N-Isobutylamide of 2E,4Z-decadienoic Acid

A geometric isomer of the pungent alkylamide pellitorine.

Where Does It Come From? (1)

N-Isobutylamide of 2E,4Z-decadienoic Acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid amide (n-alkylamide), found in Echinacea. It is well tolerated orally (low toxicity).

Echinacea

Research & Evidence

This is the 2E,4Z geometric isomer of the N-isobutylamide of decadienoic acid, a pungent alkylamide closely related to pellitorine and found in Echinacea and related plants. Like the other Echinacea alkylamides it contributes a tingling sensation and is studied as part of that group for proposed immune-modulating activity. Little is established about this individual isomer on its own.
