Research & Evidence

Nectandrin B is a furanoid (tetrahydrofuran-type) lignan reported from nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) and some other plants. It has been examined in laboratory studies for antioxidant activity and as an activator of the metabolic enzyme AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), but this work is preclinical and little is established about its effects in humans.
