Preprotachykinin B

Preprotachykinin B is a precursor protein from which the neuropeptide neurokinin B is derived.

Where Does It Come From?

Preprotachykinin B is a naturally occurring (and made in the body) peptide precursor (tachykinin family).

Research & Evidence

Preprotachykinin B is a precursor polypeptide that is processed in the body to release neurokinin B, a member of the tachykinin family of signalling peptides. This is a peptide, not an alkaloid or psychedelic, and tachykinins act on neurokinin receptors involved in neurotransmission and neuroendocrine regulation. Little of specific herbal relevance is established for the precursor itself.
