Eleutherosides

A mixed family of marker glycosides (eleutherosides A–M) in eleuthero — spanning saponins, lignans, and phenylpropanoids — used to standardise the adaptogenic root.

Classification

Eleutherosides are saponins, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
