Faradiol monoesters
Fatty-acid esters (chiefly laurate, myristate and palmitate) of the triterpenediol faradiol, and the main anti-inflammatory and anti-oedematous principles of calendula flowers.
Classification
Faradiol monoesters are triterpenes, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
