Inotodiol

A lanostane-type triterpenoid found almost uniquely in chaga (Inonotus obliquus). It is studied in the lab for anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and antitumour activity, though human data are limited.

Inotodiol is one of the sterols & steroids, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
