Isophthalic acid
An aromatic dicarboxylic acid (benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid) best known as an industrial feedstock for polyester resins; reports of it as a plant constituent are sparse and it has no established herbal pharmacology.

Isophthalic acid is one of the phenolic acids, part of the phenolics class. Antioxidant compounds built around one or more phenol rings — the flavonoids, tannins, phenolic acids, coumarins, and pigments behind much of a plant's protective chemistry.
