Isosalipurposide

A yellow chalcone glycoside (the 2′-glucoside of chalconaringenin) that is the principal flavonoid of young willow bark. It contributes antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.

Classification

Isosalipurposide is one of the chalcones, part of the phenolics class. Antioxidant compounds built around one or more phenol rings — the flavonoids, tannins, phenolic acids, coumarins, and pigments behind much of a plant's protective chemistry.
