Leocardin

A labdane diterpene isolated from motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca), occurring as a pair of epimers. Labdanes of this genus are noted mainly for anti-inflammatory activity.

Leocardin is one of the diterpenes, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
