Steviosides

Sweet diterpene glycosides from the stevia leaf (Stevia rebaudiana), hundreds of times sweeter than sugar and effectively non-caloric, used as natural sweeteners.

Classification

Steviosides are diterpenes, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
