Isomenthone

A minty monoterpene ketone, an isomer of menthone, present in peppermint and other mint and Pelargonium oils. It contributes to their aroma and shows mild antimicrobial activity.

Isomenthone is one of the monoterpenes, part of the terpenoids class. The largest class of plant compounds, built from five-carbon isoprene units — the essential-oil aromatics, resins, bitter principles, saponins, and plant sterols.
