Research & Evidence
13-O-Acetylsolstitialin A is a sesquiterpene lactone isolated from Centaurea cyanus. It was cytotoxic to MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast-cancer cells, lowering the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and cyclin D1/Cdk-4 expression. The evidence is entirely at the compound-and-cell-line level; it is a minor constituent and nothing has advanced to animal or human work.
Toxicity & Safety
As an α-methylene-γ-lactone sesquiterpene it belongs to the structural class behind Asteraceae contact dermatitis, and the reported activity is frank cell-line cytotoxicity. No isolated-compound safety dataset exists.
