Research & Evidence

Rheediinoside B is one of two saponins characteristic of Entada rheedii, isolated from the seed kernel with rheediinoside A. The pair showed moderate antioxidant activity alongside cytotoxicity in vitro, with rheediinoside B the more active of the two (PMID 19896681). Because they are species-distinguishing, they matter for telling E. rheedii apart from the other Entada species whose chemistry is often read across to it.

Toxicity & Safety

The reported profile includes in-vitro cytotoxicity and no isolated-compound safety dataset exists. Saponins are locally irritant and haemolytic as a class.
