Urinary System

The kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract — filtration of the blood, fluid balance, and elimination of soluble waste.

General herbal approach

Diuretics increase urine flow to flush the tract and relieve fluid retention, and are often paired with urinary antiseptics (bearberry, buchu) in infection. Soothing urinary demulcents (corn silk, couch grass, marshmallow) protect inflamed bladder and urethral lining, while antilithics help prevent and manage stone formation. Urinary antispasmodics ease the spasm and urgency of irritable or infected states. Adequate water intake is part of every protocol.
