Endocrine System

The hormone-producing glands — adrenals, thyroid, pancreas, and gonads — that regulate metabolism, stress, and reproduction.

General herbal approach

Because the endocrine glands are deeply interlinked, herbal work is rarely about a single gland. Adaptogens (ashwagandha, rhodiola, eleuthero) modulate the HPA axis and adrenal output, helping the whole system adapt to demand. Thyroid modulators support over- or under-active thyroid states, and hormonal-modulating herbs nudge the reproductive axis. Blood-sugar herbs (see Metabolic) sit here too. The aim is regulation and resilience rather than forced stimulation or suppression.

Key herbal actions

The actions most often called on for the endocrine system: Adaptogen, Thyroid modulator, Hormonal modulator, Tonic. Each links through to the herbs that carry it.
